I grew up not learning how to have relationships. One relationship has changed all that. I had tons of counseling, but none of it really helped until I got the wonderful counselor, then no matter whether I went to secular counseling or Christian counseling, God used what came into my life to teach me what I needed to know. My life is radically changed now. If you have not made this most important decision in your life, I encourage you with my whole heart to seek God. He promises that if you seek Him with your whole heart, you will find Him. For some people, all they need is to read a few Scriptures, if that's you, here are some scriptures that will lead you right to the point where you have to either accept or reject Christ. If you are a little slow like me and take longer to process spiritual things, then copy these scriptures down on something. If you let them, they will drill a very welcome whole in your heart, a hole to let love in. (We hear so much information in a day, that it's no wonder our hearts have become calloused and hardened to God's wonderful message of hope and truth.) Look these up in different Bibles if you like. I'll put the most accurate translation, the NASB, down at the bottom of this, so you can use that.

*** Ask God to speak to you as you read the following Scriptures:
__"Yes, all have sinned; all fall short of God's glorious ideal;" Romans 3:23
__"For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" Romans 6:23
__"But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners." Romans 5:8
__"Even in his own land and among his own people, the Jews, he was not accepted. Only a few people would welcome and receive Him. But to all who received Him, He gave the right to become children of God. All they needed to do was to trust Him to save them. John 1:11-12
__"For if you tell others with your own mouth that Jesus Christ is your Lord and believe in your own heart that God has raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is by believing in his heart that a man becomes right with God; and with his mouth he tells others of his faith, confirming his salvation." Romans 10:9-10
__"Anyone who calls upon the name of the Lord will be saved." Romans 10:13
__"Look! I have been standing at the door and I am constantly knocking. If anyone hears me calling him and opens the door, I will come in and fellowship with him and he with me." That's Jesus speaking in Rev. 3:20 (fellowship is such a small word for what God does when He comes into a life. You have to continue pursuing God through something called discipleship. That's like sitting down at the table with Jesus every morning to be learn of Him. Some people you just can't please, but God has clear guidelines laid down in black and white about what pleases Him. What pleases Him is us doing what He knows is the best thing for us, the thing that will ultimately make us happiest. If you're willing to try even a little bit, then He's willing to help you and work with you. Choose Christ. He is the best way to the best life there is in this world.

John 1:11-12 that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved; for with the heart a person believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation. Rom. 10:9-10 for "Whoever will call on the name of the LORD will be saved." Rom. 10:13 "Behold, I stand at the door and knock; if anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and will dine with him, and he with Me. Rev. 3:20

He's the way and the truth and the best life there is.

The Power of Hanging Out, by Jim Eliff

1. Find a hanging out place, or several, in your area. This will be easier for some than others. I've even spent some time in the local hamburger place. For most this will have to be early in the morning before work, but others may be able to invest a bit more. The morning usually attracts the "regulars" that you will be best able to connect with.
2. Learn the names of the people you meet. It is good to jot their names down somewhere for reference.
3. Take your Bible, and spend time reading it, writing notes in your notebook, or reading a good Christian book while out.
4. Keep a friendly, approachable look about you. Speak to people. Introduce yourself and find out about them. Focus much of your talk on them. They'll also be curious about you.
5. Seek to get to the layer of philosophical talk. What do these new friends believe about important issues of life and death? This makes for deeper and more significant relationships.
6. You will find that they will be curious about you and your beliefs also. Talk freely about what you believe and how you approach life.
7. Make friends, real friends, who will be important to you no matter what their spiritual preferences are. Love them for who they are.
8. If you have read something interesting that you can pass on, by all means do so, especially if it has something to do with the true love of your life, Jesus Christ.
9. Expect God to do something. Christians make a difference! You might help a fellow believer or a person who does not have a spiritual bone in his body. You never know what God may be doing. The world reacts and responds to "lighted" Christians.
